| God, Help me to stay in Sprit Have you ever had to deal with deceptive and double-tongued people? I mean a person who praises the Lord on Sunday and by Monday morning you are wondering if this is the same person from yesterday. I mean a person who claims to love the Lord but their actions and lifestyle leaves one to wonder. I mean a person who speaks in tongues on Sunday, but will not speak to you in English. Have you ever had to work alongside a person or group of people who would rather gossip about ’so-and-so’ than get work done? While we may be successful in deceiving our peers, no one is getting over on the Lord. He knows your heart (Hebrews 4:12: NIV- For the word of God is living and active . Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow: it judges thoughts and attitudes of the heart.). How do you handle the hypocrites around you? How do you handle a person who appears to be living a double life (holy on Sunday and devilish the other days) … especially if the person is in your home? How do you keep from strangling this person? When I get to the point of total frustration with a person, I have this saying I recite. I simply say, “Lord, Help Me Not To … “. The Bible said in (2 Peter 1:5-7:NIV-For this very reason ,make every effort to add to your faith goodness: and to goodness, knowledge.(6 )And to knowledge , self-control: and to self-control, perseverance: and to perseverance, goodliness.(7) And to goodliness, brotherly kindness: and to brotherly kindness, love. My brother, my sister, it is important for you to understand God sees everything and knows everything. He knows who is getting on your last nerve. He knows who keeps mess going. He knows the drama you face on the job, at the church, and even in your home. He knows the attacks the devil sends against you and He knows the people the devil attempt to use against you. I know reacting according to your flesh can be easy, but what will it resolve? After you have reacted, now your relationship with the Lord is being threatened. You are now being labeled as a fake. Beloved, when you get to the point that you want to react, just simply say, “Lord, Help Me Not To … “ The Bible said in (James 1:19-20:- NIV My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.(20) For man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.)
